As everyone must know, there is no talking about
the Italian culture without talking about the food, and there is no talking
about the food without talking about the holiday celebration and gatherings.
What some of you may now know is that The Last Supper was actually a Passover
Seder, since Jesus was Jewish. To learn more about the Italian Jews, The
Last Supper, Passover, Italian Kosher foods and the more recent Easter
feast traditions, come visit our culinary section at

since we now have nearly 2,000 pages on our website since we consolidated
some sections and expanded others. Take come look at some of our new sections
which includes great expansions to the Complete Table of Contents; Food &
Drink Sections; News & Views; Travel; and much much more. Check out our

There seems to be an increased interest in learning
the Italian language. For this reason, we would like to welcome and introduce
you to a new sponsor, Acquerello Audio Magazine. The great thing about this
magazine other than it also being available on CD (so you can listen in your
car, portable stereo and/or computer) is it also comes with an accompanying
magazine each month. Its really a great way to learn Italian you can really
use. Check them out at:

THE LAST WORD: We try not to make
a point of politics or religion at SicilianCulture.com, but the fact is,
Rome and Italy is the home of Vatican City, the capital of Christianity and
civilization itself. It is upsetting to me, that when people learn I still
go to church each Sunday, mention "what about all these priest sex scandals?".
Well, obviously it is very disturbing, but people should know that Catholic
Church has not cornered the market on sexual misconduct. It happens in every
religion, and in every industry (it has even happend within the White House
walls). What is yet more upsetting, is that the media does not mention the
fact that similar news stories in other religions and areas get merely a
brief mention, but when a Catholic priest is accused, it makes very prominent
news stories on the nightly news and headlines on newspapers. I believe in
capital punishment, and my feelings would be no different for a priest who
commits such a crime, as if it were someone who was not a priest. It may
sound harsh, but the rules apply for everyone, no one should be treated
differently, and the media should note that the same should go for publicizing
these news items for all religions, not singling out the Catholics, but then
practically ignoring the story when it comes from a different religion and/or
areas of industry. Now, more than ever, we need not only need God in our
lives but religious tolerance also, and that includes not bashing any one
particular one. It would be an absolute shame to allow a few bad apples to
poison the whole orchard. Just think about this season, and the only peace
we may have is sitting down to Passover and Easter celebrations while some
in the Middle East and our troops in Afghanistan will not be so fortunate.
Let's count our blessings and focus on the positive aspects of all
things.
Have A Safe & Happy
Holiday!
